John James Pringle (1855-1923)
Pringle was born in Dumfries and trained in medicine in Edinburgh, but having travelled in Europe was ultimately appointed to the Middlesex Hospital in London. He was prominent in London Dermatology, and edited the British Journal of Dermatology and Syphilis. He was first to describe adenoma sebaceum (part of tuberose sclerosis), long know as Pringle's disease.
